hello - i finally managed to launch the FM app into the phone, but..
the static noise in my phone is horrible.
i have tried multiple headsets with varying performance, but the static is unbearable.
I have to stand fixed in a certain position to make it audioble..
Any ideas

Did you install on the Stock orange ROM without rooting?
I get a read only error when I try to push the libs.

Orange Stock ROM
Thanks sublime
lichop has suggested in the official moto forum that he has done this without root
https://supportforums.motorola.com/t...27220?tstart=5
presuming lichop = licho
If I wanted to root Orange 1.3.20 would I follow the instructions here?

From here http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=529793 i got the files. At windows, because on Linux adb not working ( i need to do some config, but some day) type these commands:
(you can put files in folder where is adb)
adb remount
adb push libfmradioplayer.so /system/lib
adb push libFMRadio.so /system/lib
adb push libfmradio_jni.so. /system/lib
Copy FMRadio.apk at sdcard, and with Astro File Manager you can install the app.
Reboot the phone and that's it. Volume control is not working, when i connect bluetooth headset i can change it. On the display appears bar, which says Bluetooth Volume.
adb remount , remounts system partion, so you can write there.
With Better Terminal Emulator, i can type commands but "su" does not work. I am not the first user of the device, but previous guy just used for one day - switching on, and realise that is too complex. The phone is not rooted, i got the latest update 1.3.20 from Orange. With OS Monitor i found there fmradioserver in the memory. Fmradio console app was there too, but not working propetly.
edit: lichop = licho (here licho is taken)

This is an old thread. Most of the 1.5 roms have FM radio. You can look at them for the information.
2.1 roms will have the ability as soon as Motorola releases the kernel source.
Closing thread.
_.__.__._I have retired. If you PM me, I may not reply.
