engharat - Does the phone feel snappier? Has performance improved? Did the battery life get worse?

The phone is faster. Is faster using menu, writing messages, etc. I have run only setCPU benchmark and it gets higher score. The battery life didn't get worse, I think because the phone only stay a small % time in 691 mhz; i put 122 mhz min state. If u want an high response on wake up for example, u could put min state 528. I have to try to put 528 min /691 max and test battery life.

jr0dd finally did it.

Nice, jr0dd was able to get near 6 MFLOPS on the Cliq. Any chance we could get a flashable zip for this?

Portable Rig: Cowon S9/Motorola Cliq > Sennheiser HD 25-1 II

1GHz is awesome although i can just see his cliq bursting into flames if he keeps it up lol, Can't wait to be able to push my cliq to the max though.

I'm on a Backflip, and I cranked mine to 748 min and max with no scaling and ran it for several hours and it barely got warm. Smashed the batter life, though.
Wit the usual 112 min, I can put the max up all the way and it doesn't seem to have a major impact on battery life.
The bad news is that it doesn't make a huge difference on general performance. It bumps my Quadrant score from like 210 to 260. By comparioson, Froyo would likely mean 100 points better, so that would mean a much greater improvement in overall responsiveness.
Where this really pays off is very CPU intensive applications. Emulation is like night and day, very playable now. Angry Birds is much improved if not exactly fluid, and some 3D games like Raging Thunder 2 are a bit more playable. If you don't play games it doesn't seem like there's much point.

I have my Dext overclocked at 748.8 and like Frogacuda says about his BackFlip performance isn't too much better. Didn't noticed nothing about warm. Battery life is the same as before using setcpu min 245760 max 748800 and it's totally stable, no reboot or rare behavior.

sacarino2k2 - can you share how you prepped your kernel. Or share the files..please..lol
I have no development skills and kernel building or patching is just way out of my league.

Right, lol. I know the risks, but have three cliqs to play with, so I am so willing to take the risk ha ha,. plus I will give any feedback I can! Thanks!
A little walk through would be nice....Alredy tried the way it was posted for the backflip, but it's a different device.Last edited by mad_fitter; 12-07-2010 at 05:58 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
