Cliq ROM Running Apps2SD

Out of all the various ROMs and ports being developed on for the Cliq, does any of them have a possibility of A2SD in the near future? That's the one thing this phone lacks to be exactly what I want / need.

(and please don't post replies asking "Why do you want A2SD? The Cliq has XXX megs of blah blah blah..." or "if you wanted A2SD you should've bought a..." Seriously: not in any way useful. )

One ROM had it and then it was pulled due to instability. Right now, AFAIK, no ROMs have A2SD.

That little tease I remember all too well - I think I was the first one to spend a half a day trying to get it to work before posting that it didn't. All my hopes and dreams - DASHED!

because of the reasons stated in your post, it's probably not that high on the totem pole of priorities. we need to find ROOT again for the newbies. =/

As noble an endeavor as root may be, it in and of itself is no holy grail. Furthermore, root is a moving target. So the Cliq's latest build gets rooted: great! Then next month, Moto rolls out 2.1, and guess what: time to root the Cliq for the third time. And all the while, what's the point of having root on this phone - tethering?

Look, I'm not trying to wax negative on here at all! I'm just saying that swap, apps2sd, sense, and etc. are the things that make root worth having in the first place. Root for the sake of bragging rights is about worthless.

Kudos to all the devs out there busting ass to improve on the state of things. I'm not trying to take ANYTHING away from the work you guys do. I'd just like to eventually see some meaningful increases in the overall functionality of this device. TheDude brought root. Awesome! DevTeam brought us tethering. Thank you!! So who's working on the next real breakthrough?

I'd like to see Hero on the cliq next. Or another stable port.

i'm ALMOST willing to buy an HD2 and try to put android on it. :P

Now THAT would be a feat worthy of much applause! Sense is great and all, but I just wanna go back to having unlimited installation space. I hate having to uninstall sh*t everytime I wanna install some new sh*t and then having to alternate sh*t based on what I'm doing and when. It's just... sh*tty. I'm one who uses his phone for about everything it can possibly be used for. I've stopped using a computer at home altogether. That's why I'm so hot for apps2sd. Now that'd be some tasty barbecue!

I agree as well. Maybe a2sd once 2.1 is out, but keep the focus on rooting, as once rooted, people with fresh Cliqs can enjoy the new ROMs that are out.
