i tried this and it gave an error of no such file :-/ odd

got it :-) it had Copy of in front of it so i had to rename it

For future reference, suggest this:

*OPEN TERMINAL EMULATOR ON YOUR PHONE WITHOUT MOUNTING TO YOUR COMPUTER*
cd sdcard
su
ls *results of "ls" at this point should list the name of the .img file
flash_image recovery *name of what you called the recovery image*.img

And by the way, Android is a Linux derivative, so a lot of the Terminal Emulator commands translate to the Linux Terminal (though Terminal Emulator doesn't have "sudo" in it).
