[Themed Recovery] AndroidBlast Mod
This is my mod of Amon_RA's cliq recovery image. As always, full credit goes to Amon_RA, all I did was mod the appearance. Also, thank you to Daneshm90 for his patience in walking me through the Recovery-Mod Engine.
Hope everyone enjoys, and of course, feedback is welcome and appreciated. Please "thanks" if you download

"Can not open file as archive"

please be more specific as to what you were doing when you got this message. and what gave you this message?
EXTRACT .img file and place on the ROOT of your sd card...which means move it from /sdcard/downloads to just /sdcard
then from adb on your computer, type in the following commands:
cd\
cd AndroidSDK\tools\
adb devices
adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/androidblast-recovery.imgMotorola Cliq: **ROOTED for her pleasure**, ROM: PureHandler 0.0, Recovery: My "AndroidBlast" mod, Theme: "ZeroCliq" - my edit

That's where it's f**king up. I've flashed the other recovery images available through M3 before using Terminal Emulator. I've tried extracting this using Astro File Manager, AndroZip, and Ubuntu Lucid. Here's the full text of the error message:
7-Zip 9.04 beta Copyright (c) 1999-2009 Igor Pavlov 2009-05-30
p7zip Version 9.04 (locale=en_US.utf8,Utf16=on,HugeFiles=on,1 CPU)
Error: /media/androidsd/androidblast-recovery.zip: Can not open file as archive

That's odd.....3 things you could try (hopefully someone a bit more knowledgeable on this issue will chime in)
1. try unzipping on your PC with windows default extracting
2. redownload .zip file and start fresh
3. If nothing is working and really really want to use my recovery, PM me your email address and ill send you the .img file unzipped
PS I just tested download, extraction, and reflashing and it worked (download through dolphin browser, extracted using linda file manager)Last edited by TopShelf10; 06-28-2010 at 08:47 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I downloaded it through Dolphin myself, and it somehow won't work.
---------*testing Linda*---------All that did was unzip into a folder.
---------"Windows default extracting"---------I run Linux on my computer. :P
---------downloading purely through Dolphin---------Well, that kept looping to the "Processing download request" window...
---------Testing via Firefox---------Okay, downloaded it to /home/*home folder*/Downloads and got the image extracted. Now, testing it to see if it works via ADB...
ADB failed, but Terminal Emulator on the phone itself worked! Looks great!
*note to self: download all s**t for the phone to the computer first*

I'm glad you got it working and that you like it!
Keep in mind its normal for something to be extracted to a folder. At that point, through your PC you take the .img file which should be in that folder and place it on the ROOT of your SD card, which means not in ANY folder. When you download something through your phone it will automatically get placed in the folder "downloads" on your sd card, so you can't flash from there because its in a folder.
Its much easier to do all of this through your PC hahaMotorola Cliq: **ROOTED for her pleasure**, ROM: PureHandler 0.0, Recovery: My "AndroidBlast" mod, Theme: "ZeroCliq" - my edit

yah ive never touched linux, but i mean there shouldnt be any reason to use it considering theres adb and terminal. the problem you were having is a little odd if you were doing everything right. but oh well, you got it working at least!
Just an announcement to people who use this: I've noticed that the font color does not go very well with the blast image. So at some point, today or tomorrow, I am going to change the font color to white so it is better distinguishable.Last edited by TopShelf10; 06-29-2010 at 08:00 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
