[UPLOADER] Hassle-free file hosting
I've been an avid follow of M3 for many years and have finally decided to contribute to the community. I've noticed that most developers do not have access to adequate file hosting services so I've created my own. From now on, any developer can host files < 100M or less in size by following these steps:
1) Register for an account
2) Wait for authorization (I will be screening applicants to be sure they are devs)
I have no transfer limit and the speeds will be greater than that via 4shared or rapidshare. Also, no more annoying countdown javascript or trouble downloading from a mobile device!
Feel free to request access here just by replying
Cheers,
mytmouse

This would be great .... I had to wait to DL a ROM from 4shared for 5mins...the countdown was really frustrating. Will your file hosting site have a timer? What if the devs have more than 1 file but go over the 100mbs? I'm not a dev but what if there was something I wanted to contribute to the community will I be able to use this? Sorry just want to get a few things out in the open..

mytmousem I'd love to setup an automatic mirror if possible, then we could provide multiple server downloads easily, and split bandwidth, potentially increasing your file size ;-)?

I can't speak for mytmouse, and I'm not going to jump in here to offer an alternative to what he is offering - unless there would be good reason to - that would be counter productive.
But if I were to mirror this, I would say yes to letting you use it to contribute, as long as its substancial (otherwise you could use something like Microsoft SkyDrive, which gives you 25GB with 50MB file limits, and hotlinking).
I'm hoping by offering to Mirror, mytmouse and I can split bandwidth, and offer bigger files.

Registration is open to everyone, but you cannot upload until the account is approved. I can easily make other devs administrators of the site so they can approve more people. Also, I raised the 100mb file-size limit to 200mb. I can't imagine what single file would be larger than that

Oh and the hosting will not have a timer. Just register, upload, then provide a link!

arayray, i'd recommend using a url shortening services such as goo.gl or bit.ly. they track clickthroughs. only way you can track hits with my uploader is by bandwidth.
