I'd have reverted back to 1.5 by now, but silly here didn't do a proper backup. Any clues guys?

Im currently testing out changing to 2.2 and had issues connecting to wi-fi on Br3ttus ROM, but I just simply wiped and tried again and it was working fine.

With regards to what ROMS work in the UK, Ive tried loads and never had any issues, ADLX, JRODD, CM, Motoruler and more, all fine

Sure. Though I said it all before in an earlier post.

I'm on J_r0dds TheOfficial 1.3.2 with OC and MT patches. I'm not too sure if these are still available though (I have them backed up however - PM me for a link). I also use J_R0dds recovery.

I installed them the standard way - i.e copy them to my memory card and install from the recovery menu. When I install, I always do a nandroid backup, then wipe, flash, wipe again. The recovery was a little more difficult to update though - I just followed the instructions on the download post.

The only issue I have had is due to my own stupidity - I had setCPU set at full speed whilst charging (748 Performance). This has caused the phone to overheat and killed the battery once (killed as in flat - not completely killed). I since changed the profile to be a little less aggressive.

I haven't updated to newer firmwares as I am pretty happy with this one - as far as I can see there are no major bugs in it, it is also blazingly fast with SetCPU set correctly. I'm not sure if the MT patch is suitable for the newer firmware either.

Also, I had a few problems installing Apps2SD. It appears that the recovery doesn't create the Ext2 partition correctly. I had to do this manually using a card reader and GParted (use an Ubuntu LiveCD if you don't have a linux PC) - creating the partition using GParted leaving the card in the phone and using the USB cable refused to work correctly for me. It now works beautifully though!
