Eclair with MOTOBLUR
Does this exist?
I love all the work developers are doing on porting Eclair to the Cliq but none of them support MOTOBLUR's contact syncing feature.
About 90% of the people I am friends with on Facebook have their numbers listed on their profiles. There is to many to type them all in manually on my phone.
I have tried various methods to get the outcome I desire with no luck.
So a few questions - Do any developers have an Eclair ROM that supports this feature in the works?
and if not, how can I do it myself? Is it as simple as adding certain apps into one of the Eclair to Cliq ports and reflashing? Or is it more complicated than that?
Also, I don't want everything MOTOBLUR offers except this feature. Are they dependent on each other or can you rip most of them out?

uh. Purehandler is motoblur, however i havent paid as much attention to it as i should. is it android 2.1?
and no. the motoblur stuff is build on SDK 3 (android 1.5) eclair is SDK 7. youd get a force close if it even installed. youd need to physically port each one. which is a long and strenuous process, even if you know what your doing.

theres a facebook app for 2.1 on the E2C thread that will sync your contacts...and no there is no eclair build yet with motoblur that wont happen until Motorola releases the update...whenever that happens

In all honesty i ve grown to like MotoBlur... when switching to Elair I felt like the phone was missing something.

Motorola is working on Eclair with Motoblur.
They have not finished it or released it yet.
But, from what their Android Software Upgrade page says:
CLIQ (USA)
Upgrade to Android 2.1 - testing in processPhones: Motorola CLIQ Titanium(Eclair2CLIQ, 1.4.8), Motorola CLIQ Winter White(Froyo2CLIQ, 1.4.8), T-Mobile G1(Cyanogen v5.0.7)

And with that i will close this thread. It's hard enough porting eclair AOSP for the Cliq. Motorola will do the Blur part. If anyone has any objections PM me.
