Thread: Re-signing [ROM].zip files.

Re-signing [ROM].zip files.
After reading the sub form [thanks Danation] I figured this was a development question. I was wondering how to remove apks from a ROM and then be able to flash that ROM to my phone without errors. [i tried removing audiopostcard one time and when in recovery it said that audiopostcard.apk could not be found.--> the flash failed, lol] You see, I like blur, but there are several apps i could live without hogging up my app drawer if you know what I mean. And as a suggestion, when this gets answered, it should take it's rightful place in the CLIQ BIBLE. Yes, i'm sure this is VERY simple to do, but i can't for the life of me find how to do it.
in advance =]

You're better off using SUFBS to remove AudioPostcard. Just make sure you mount mtdblock3 as read/write first (tap the square with the "S" towards the top).

I use Winrar, load the ROM zip delete the apk file(s) then sign as below.
Here's an easy to follow tutorial that worked for me.

Titanium Backup. Simply Open, scroll to apk, click UNINSTAll. Helps when you want to get rid of those pesky bloatware stock apps. just dnt delete the wrong thing like anything google. you may get force closes.

su 222 is giving a bunch of issues (pple are reporting them on ChaionsDD thread on XDA). I prefer to stick to an earlier version.

I was going to mention that just because your phone is ROOTED, that DOES NOT mean your current ROM has ROOT ACCESS. Perfect example is the leaked (2.1) MotoBLUR rom. That has NO root access. But if if use JRODD's (2.1) beta2 cliq mod, you WILL have root access. Hope that helps.

adlxmod 2.0 (android 2.1 with motoblur 2.0.25) also has local root access and SUperuser working correctly fyi :-)
