i tried wiping via recovery but it tells me i have to do it through a console?? anyway, can you elaborate on the "connect to pc" part?

don't choose wipe! you are making this way too difficult on yourself. choose the option to partition sdcard. it will erase the whole thing. it will prompt you for swap size, ext and fat32. just be sure to copy everything off of there before. i am uploading a new recovery.img that has been updated to back-up the ext partition properly for the apps2sd in my rom.

Well I did this earlier, swap 96mb and ext2 512mb and then upgraded to ext3. Keep in mind I did have an exisisting partion. And now when I look in "sd storage" under menu>settings it says there is 6800mb of total space (out of 8gb)....that seems like a lot of missing space...

PS before I did that partition today it said like there was like 7400mb of total space (that was with the partition I already had).....something just doesn't seem right if what you said ^ is true

Interesting, so let me bother you with 2 more questions:

    1. Why is it telling me I only have 6800mb of total space (not available space) on an 8gb card?

    2. Why does my total space go down after I go through the partition/ext3 process?

    simple math. 512 + 96 + 6800 = 7408

Damn you, this relationship is not going to last if you continue to embarass me in public......last question, and then I'm done exposing my feebleness: why does it originall 7408 as opposed to 8000?
