Hi devs! opensource.motorola.com asked in the source code for my phone which brings the radio * 5025 * working on 3g 850mhz, can anyone help me create a radio rom 2.1 and included in the source code? to all who did not update the radio * 5030 * to gain their 3g without losing other things! in my case only 3g but I still lost the same radio version * 5025 *! Thanks in advance

EDIT: the file to download it's corrupt at the moment!! i ask for a reload!

EDIT2: this file no fix 3g issues!!!!! it's only source code from kernel!! read before post!!!

that is the kernel not a radio.img

merged the other thread, no need for 2.

unfortunately the band frequencies are in the radio.img.

Ok, got the file.

Extracted it with 7-zip, looked at the files and now I'm clueless lol.

Don't know what's next to test the update on my Dext, I'm hoping that a dev can help us.

are you not paying attention? this will NOT fix your 3G

So what can we do with this file? Its a Rom? I guess that we need to build it or something.

It.is.a.kernel. You can flash it to your phone, that is all. As J_rodd said, it will NOT fix your 3G

I'm not the one not paying attention, I didn't say anything about fixing 3G, my Dext it's working ok with old radio.

I just asked if there's a radio update on it and if is there a dev who can make something with this source cos I don't have a clue (after u said it's only a kernel).

Hope this is useful in some way, I'll love to use camera, sensors, blutooth on a 2.1 ROM soon.

So out of curiosity, I was thinking of purchasing a DEXT in Mexico, which obviously runs on the 850mhz 3G frequency. Is there any ROM's right now that will work with this? AFAIK in my reading, we use the 1.1.x radio version, right? Is there any ROM's that we can use with this radio version? I haven't seen any yet.

I've heard enough things about the DEXT/Cliq that it works relatively slow on the stock OS, so I would definitely want to upgrade if I were to buy it. Thanks for the help.

Hey citizen86 about this about every ROM here can be used with our MOTO DEXT from Mexico just you gotta be careful wich ones contains RADIO updates and avoid them, as far for releases from adlx for example or handler there are kernel patches that allows us to us those roms with our radio version *5012* hope that clarifies a little bit =D

Thanks davioxx, that's good to know. So then even some of the 2.1 ROM's will work with Telcel's DEXT, as long as it doesn't contain the radio "upgrade". I think I just read Eclair2Cliq doesn't contain it, and seems like a good one.

So right now, it's just the people who accidentally "upgraded" the radio who are trying to downgrade again for 3G? Sorry to hear.

I compiled this Kernel a few days ago. What i do know is this is a 2. 6. 27 Kernel Latin American. What i don't know is if this Kernel has anything other than what we have already....

T-Mobile is going to release a new motorola android phone called the Charm. maybe we can get a kernel dump from this phone and hopefuly it will be the latest kernel. Another thing is when the Charm comes out i bet it wont be long before they start pushing the Android 2.1 update out for the Cliq/Dext phones.
