[FIX] Root for Eclair2Cliq Beta 1 [08/06/10]

This update.zip will fix root for Eclair2Cliq Beta 1. It consists of a repacked boot.img from the original ROM and during installation it fixes permissions and symlinks for su for on-device root. The default.prop has been modified to match the default.prop shown here: http://modmymobile.com/forums/403-mo...permitted.html

This will fix adb root as well as root on-device.

This is a fix/patch so DO NOT WIPE.

Thanks to yyhl and toxigenicpoem for the fix - I only packaged it.

And of course- thanks to travisjames for the original ROM.

Directions:

1) Move update.zip to /sdcard/
2) Reboot into recovery
3) Nandroid Backup
4) Flash the update.zip
5) Reboot
6) Enjoy root!

If you currently have root access (i.e. the SuperUser.apk works).
Then you have to edit /META-INF/com/google/android/update-script.
Remove everything except last three lines, this is the edited update-script (the last line is blank):

format BOOT:
write_raw_image PACKAGE:boot.img BOOT:

After editing, resign the update.zip. Then you can flash.

I am going to need more specific instruction than that. I am still learning.
