I remember seeing something like this at xda. I think the problem was with the updater-script. I'll see if I can find it again.

LOL. If you insist on using windows, you must use something like Programmers Notepad, which preserves the unix line ends (and is a great editor anyway, shows syntax highlighting etc, I use it for 99% of my text file and C file and shell file and perl etc viewing & editing on my home and work PC).

Very true, but personally I think Notepad++ is the best.

yeah i personally use notepad ++ and i was about 99.9% sure it was my update-script. thank you for semi-confirming it!

I totally redid my update-script.
now, im getting and error "(status 4)" message. anybody? haha
