I haven't had as much time as I'd like to work on it, but I've gotten the Keyboard, Buttons, Back lighting, and LED working. All apps seem to be running alright. Most hardware (wifi, bluetooth, etc) is not working. I'm still getting reboots, and system force closes. Right now I'm trying to get it to connect to the t-mobile network. As soon as I do that the first alpha will probably be released.

does your radio start? can you enter apn settings? maybe we should join forces, i also have Keyboard, Buttons, Back lighting, and LED working, and some other stuff. i dont have any fc's or reboots, but have some other wierd probs. is your sdcard mounted?

the BIG difference that i see that were doing is your building from source, and im porting cm6. pm me so we can talk more.

id recommend doing it from source.
we can work together if youd like.
GTALK me.

I will be using a vendor file (the cliq drivers) while building.
So everything will pretty much work.

All i need to do is build a new froyo kernel with cliq support.

why do it from source?
as source may be harder to understand at first.
making specific drivers work will be harder while porting a rom than making it from source with the proper files.

Not true..... The vendor file will not 'just' make it work, we will need to be diligent in getting a .34 kernel up and running.

Currently the Qualcomm team has released an MSM 32 kernel that Sudo.Adam and working hard on getting running 100%. We're using Handler's vendor file. Once this task is accomplished we can move onto the generic froyo 34 kernel.

I'm not a developer but are u able to make the rom to support multi-touch. I know u haven't released the first beta but can u add it in the near future. And is there any rom for the cliq that actually supports multi-touch. Sorry for bothering your intense discussion.

This Project is Dead. You can check out the Froyo ROM its called CM4Cliq
Its creator is ngiordano. Its CyanogenMod. Cyanogen Team is well known in the Android World. ngiordano ported a build to work on the Cliq. I've tested it and it is awesome! Once there is a fix for the SIM card issue I'll be running it a a daily..You should test it and see if it works for you!
