Thread: Messed up :(

Messed up :(
I killed my Cliq!!! I turn it on and its just a white screen with the big "M" and nothing happens after that!
I try to go into bootloader moder and after i click the volume button down nothing happens! It freezes.
ADB won't pick up on the device either :/
What i was doing that led to all this was this:
I wanted to try out that new "JIT" thing right, so i was following some steps. Right in the begging it asks you to pull your build.prop. using this command
It was going smooth but the power went out and i my cliq rebooted (why did it do that tho?? o_O) and thats when it all happened. It won't do much now :/ADB pull /system/build.prop build.prop
So, by any chance, does anyone know how i can put that "build.prop" back?! I think that if i do that then it'll all go back to normal....err, sorta.
Please help, thank you very much!!

Which ROM were you using prior to the mess up? If all else fails restore a nand backup just like the tutorial said to do.

Are you sure it freezes at bootloader screen? Well, it should take a while to go into recovery mode after you press the volume down btn.
Also, do you have your phone fully charged? Perhaps you need to charge it first.
Well, it shouldn't kill your phone if you're only pulling the build.prop out.

just an fyi when you do an adb pull it is not removing it from the phone. it is just pulling a copy off
Nexus S: CM7.1 Kang w/Voodoo
Backflip: CM7.1
Cliq: CM7.1

you need to flash a a stock rom and reroot.
Acces the other bootloader screen by holding down menu while booting up. now get a stock rom from the firmwares superthread and flash it using rsd lite.

Hello again, i tried doing what you said about using RSD to fix my problem but its not working!
I went to the super thread and downloaded the one that was running Android 2.1 and when i went to look for it on RSD and clicked "Start" it told me in less then a second "FAIL 7x1000"
I thought, okay, this IS a new version that i believe is still under development so i guess its not working properly. So i went and downloaded an old one and nothing. Got the same error again! And again! And again!
I did a little research to look for answers about my error and found a few and i tried them but nothing. The same thing happens
Can you guys give me any advice on this?? I'd keep trying but well, my battery's probably gonna die soon and then how am i gonnna charge it??
(
Thanks you guys!
BTW: I don't know if this goes against the rules since its now sorta dealing with RSD Lite and alla that. If i am then my most sincere apologies!Last edited by LordPain; 08-13-2010 at 02:41 AM.

If you are using j_r0dds cliqMod it is already preintalled on it. all you need to do, in Term or ADB, is to activate it.
'a2sd jit' on a su or shell to turn it off 'a2sd nojit'
it will take a while for it to boot because it clears the dalvik but it should boot.

No probs for me with Windows7 64bit, RSDlite 4.5.7. You need to right click the shortcut for RSDlite and choose "run as administrator" or else nothing works properly. Then you should hear the new hardware sound when you launch RSDlite as it installs a new "virtual" USB port connection to the phone. Some people work around this another way, by running RSDlite in WindowsXPsp3 compatibility mode, but the right click run as administrator works fine for me.

yeah i've tried that and thanks for looking out!
I tried running as administrator and the other way (running in compability mode)
One thing i noticed was this
DOes it matter if the file i'm trying to flash is an ".shx" or an ".sbf" file??
Cuz when i try to flash an .sbf file it at shows up on RSD Lite but when its an .shx file it doens't show anything! :O
Just pointing out some things so maybe some smart person could help me out
