kernel??
Hey all,
This probably will make me look stupid, but I can't figure out how to get a custom kernel on my phone... Help? I'm not a computer whiz, but I'm not stupid either. Just need some help getting started.
Thanks!

Well, I'm not an expert but I think, when you build a ROM you can customize the kernel, then you'll have a custom kernel, the other way is to have a zip file with the custom kernel and install it through recovery.
Phone: Motorola DEXT (Mx)
ROM: adlxmod 2.1
Radio: 5025 850MHz radio version
Recovery: j_r0dd-mb200-v1.7.5.1

You wont find kernel 2.6.29 (android 2.1) sources cause motorola doesnt want to give them (btw they are violating GPL license, we should sue them jeje).
You will find kernel 2.6.27 (android 1.5) sources. I'm trying to forwardport 2.6.27 into android 2.1 as far as see that AndroidExploid 1.5(cupcake) ROM runs in radio 5025 (after upgradint from 5012 to 5025).
If you have some requirements for kernel please let me know. I'm slow cause i'm messing with other job's things but I wont forget it.
