I know some Devs tried this with 1.5 roms, rooted with kernel source. They were not able to get anywhere with it. That being said, I don't think Motorola released yet their source for 2.1 to even try this but even with their source, it may not work. I hope I'm wrong, I'd love to have my phone oc'd.

You can't overclock the CPU of the Cliq/CliqXT, it's "impossible," according to Handler:
