[Patch] Multi-touch

I've created a update.zip which will add multi-touch to a ROM that does not currently support it. Just place it on your sd card and install from recovery.

Thanks xiaojiang51888 for the files which this patch uses. Also Double0EK for pointing out that it could take 5-10 minutes for the first boot after installing.

WARNING THIS IS NOT A ROM DO NOT WIPE!!

Use with caution several people at simplyandroid have said multitouch could cause damage to your device

To remove flash the boot.img from your ROMs update.zip and remove /system/etc/permissions/android.hardware.touchscreen.multitouch.xml

Thanks for the patch! I just flashed, and I am rebooting now. I cannot wait to test it.

Edit: worked flawlessly! I didn't even have to boot more than normal. Took less than 30 seconds.

Question: Does it have the boot.img or is it just the driver patch and the .xml? Just curious to know if I have to disable my aps2sd and dalvik back to data so I wont lose aything.

Haha..never even though about that before I patched mine. I have aps2sd enabled and dalvic cache on my sd card and I don't seem to be missing anything. The couple apps that I have stuff saved in are still there, plus a couple saved games are still saved. I do believe that that is what the dalvic cache holds (the saved data from apps), but I could be wrong. Still a very new noobie lol..

Also it only took the normal amount of time to reboot after installing.

This patch is a kernel (i.e. boot.img) so depending on what firmware you were running, you may or may not lose features you had at the kernel level by flashing this patch. Adumont has made a 2.1.5_2 that has multitouch now for his f/w amongst many other goodies, and I think J_r0dd also has.

Weird... it worked fine with mine. Did you wipe? You don't wanna wipe it. I personally cannot think of any other reason to fail, it worked first try with my VwE rom.

Mine also seems to get stuck on the M logo on VwE, but I didn't wipe at all.

Anyone that is using this on j_r0dds TO 1.1.1 have an issue with aps2sd not working? Because I did an aps2sd check and it said the my sdcard was not mounted. I tried everything I could think of to fix it but still no worky. Feedback:

do not use this if you are using my rom! things will break. my v1.2 has mutltitouch already

Here is a patch i made with adlx's kernel to enable multitouch, swap, netfilter (wireless tethering) and tun (VPN) support to Handler's VwE 1.2. It's a flashable from recovery patch. Remember, only for VwE 1.2!!!
