It will be the same for this, unless all the dev's collaborate and work on this ROM together. I'm not trying to take away the bright light set upon your work and take away the hopes of others here, I'm just making a usefull valid point, because its happened too much, with dev's growing busy of other stuff, leaving there work behind. Look at androidguys, and some rather mentions at XDA and here.

And EDIT: It's 748MHZ and its barely working properly.
You're really a "glass half empty" kind of guy, aren't you?

    Matthew Kane is right.

Work on froyo, then eclair. Function is what matters, not the latest stuff.

And in this case, Gingerbread is what matters. What's the point of working on Froyo, if Gingerbread is a better deal? Both require pretty much the same amount of work, might as well work on a better one.

Yeah, unless there would be a unified dev team committed to perfecting this ROM, it has a very big chance of being left in the dust. I hope there would be a general consensus among the major guys here (Handler, j_rodd, ADLX, etc.) that development for GingerCliq would be now top priority, but of course there's still the issue of them still having to support their existing ROM's. Very sticky situation, really.

Please don't leave. The rest of us appreciate your work. Don't let the insensitive comment from one person get to you. All this stuff ain't easy work, not everyone can do it. If you really must leave everyone will respect your decision. But if you leave because of one dumb and uncalled for comment then I fear it is a great waste of talent. Very few people now can comprehend the beauty we enjoy now an take things for granted. Cheers!

    +1 ^

To the people who are saying bin froyo and just dev gingerbread, you obviously have no idea how difficult it is to make a ROM for a phone that was never meant to run it. To get froyo on the cliq/dext is a hell of an achievment and you lot are like "nah bollocks to all the work you've put in so far, i want the newest OS". The cliq/dext isn't a super phone it has limitations and i'm afraid those limits are more than likely froyo. I live in the UK and am bloody grateful to all the devs for making 2.1 roms otherwise i'd be stuck on crappy 1.5 forever, and when froyo is fully functioning i'll be a very happy man.

    Rant over

Well, thread closed. I'd like to leave it open but this thread will continue to go on track of someone's opinion rather than talk about the ROM or the work being done.
