Pseudo MIUI for Cliq [CM7 based] Beta
NOTE: I HAVE MOVED DEVELOPED TO PEACH ICE CREAM -- http://modmymobile.com/forums/403-mo...ice-cream.html
I apologize for the inconvenience. If you want to continue the MIUI portion of the development, please feel free to contact me!
I am not responsible for any damage to your phone or bricked phones. - no warranty.
I am currently working on a Pseudo MIUI ROM for the Cliq. Beta - Blue Autumn
It is based on CM7.0.1 and optimized to give you the best MIUI experience possible on the cliq.
Install Instructions:
1.) Wipe Data
2.) Wipe Cache
3.) (suggested, but optional) flash SuperWipe.zip
4.) Flash Pseudo MIUI
5.) Flash Google Apps
6.) Reboot.
7.) Let it sit.
8.) CyanogenMOD in settings, Performance, Overclock (anything under 700 is suggested to avoid crashes)
9.) set on boot.
10.) Move on to steps below
Switching between CM7 and MIUI User interfaces without flashing:
One of the features of this ROM is that I didn't remove the CM7 interface completely
1.) when you first boot you will see the pMIUI launcher with the default Gingebread UI.reason for this is that I've noticed people who get MIUI a lot of times theme their notification bar to look like Gingerbread AOSP anyways
2.) To change everything else, go to Theme Manager (not the default screen, the one to the right)
3.) Select MIUI
To change back simply choose System UI. To get the complete CM7 experience back, install ADW Launcher.

Looks great! If I had a Cliq 1 I'd give it a test drive!

Haha, I'm in the same boat with ya. I don't actually own a cliq but a ton of my friends do. I actually test these builds on my Girlfriend's Cliq but she's very.... protective of losing her stuff hahaha. Nandroiding all day. THe other times I'm testing (what I can test) on my Vibrant :P

This isn't really MIUI just a Launcher that makes it look like MIUI. You don't even need the MIUI.apk Theme it already changes it for you.

No, you're talking about the icons, I'm well aware of that. Yes, the launcher changes the main icons for you, BUT the MIUI.apk changes the notification bar, copy and paste needles, USB images, The clock, etc, etc. It changes A LOT. Every time I release an update it'll be more and more like MIUI. I'm planning to release the MIUI camera and Music player along with the next beta.
Bottomline: Yes, the APK does Do something, it takes care of the interface.
EDIT: You're a MOD, please move to ROM subforum
EDIT2: Also, "not really MIUI", well that's why it's Pseudo MIUI. Its a wannabe. It'll get closer and closer though.Last edited by CoolstryBro; 12-01-2011 at 10:46 AM.

Oh..haha didn't know what Pseudo meant...but I am not a mod. Sorry.
I did use the MIUI.apk and yes it did change my status bar. Sorry for that. I flashed it using just regular CM7 and it also changed my icons while using ADW. So it actually is a full themed MIUI.apk
The Launcher takes some getting used to coming from ADW EX. Other than that the ROM is stable enough to run daily.
Also I've been looking for a Launcher that has just 4 icons. Too bad that this launcher themes the rest of the icons.

Told ya :P It's fine, just glad you see it working.
Working hard on Beta 2. Making adjustments, killing bugs, etc. Also (hopefully) will have a nice surprise soon.
Oh and would someone please move this into ROM subforum... PLEASE
Quick Bump/Update (so you know I'm still working on this everyday) :P
//MIUI Music player
I found the version of the MIUI music player that works best with the cliq. Only problem was, it is hideous (blue gradients everywhere and a vista-ish gloss. Awful). So I've been modding the looks of it and this is what I have SO FAR (WIP): imgur: the simple image sharer
//New Icons, made by me to look like MIUI4-ish
MIUI4 will most likely release (for most phones) around January of 2012. I thought, hey, why not do it now?
I've been working on icons that look new and fit more to the look of the Cliq.
examples:

//UI overhaul
More info soon

I've been running this ROM since Friday, and it is a pretty stable ROM I have not had any random reboots which is a big deal with my Cliq LOL. It takes a bit of getting used to not having the app drawer...
With that said, I'm sure you are already aware of this but I'd like to show you a cpl of things I found in this ROM.
When you click on the App Store everything is in Chinese

The clock itself has Chinese written on it

MIUI is from China. I am still working on getting rid of all the chinese, yes. Personally I use the Analog clock, and if you followd the instructions, you'd see that you can get the Android Market on there (in english :P) also, I also noticed that you have not moved into MIUI mode. Check out the instructions again!

Do you mean the Status bar? Yeah I took those screen shots before switching CM7 themes. I'm still running the ROM but I put another launcher over it for now. I actually made my Cliq look like a HTC LOL....
I have ROM and theme ADD so I change it like once a week at least... I'm looking forward to updates
Have a great day!

Heads up to everyone, I'm still working on this. Was very busy with the company I'm co-running (graphic designing) and we're actually doing it!
Anyways, back on topic: I'm updating everyone at the moment and should have Beta 2 out soon

any good news about the beta 2 ?
- 02-09-2012, 10:53 AM #15
I got good news and bad news//
The Bad news is, I recently experienced a HDD crash - Lost all of my files including my progress of the 99% done Beta 2.
The Good news is that I've restarted development on this ROM and actually have it split up into two different ROMS for people who prefer variety on their Phone... escpecially since the cliq has barely any attention at all now.

The new bootscreens - Feedback is welcome!Last edited by CoolstryBro; 02-09-2012 at 06:53 PM.
