(ROM) CM9 (ICS 4.0.4) - Beta1
Hey guys. I've managed to port an ICS rom from the Hero to the Cliq/Dext.
Ported from: [Rom][Aroma][ICS 4.0.4]Cyanogenmod_9-UNNOFICIAL - xda-developers
What works:
- CPU Scaling (overclocking)
- Calls
- Data (2G & 3G)
- WiFi
- GPS ?
- SD Card
- USB (Toggle app)
- Proximity Sensor
- Compass ?
- Sound
- Headphone/Headset
- Bluetooth ?
- Videos
- Keyboard & Keyboard backlight
- and other stuff
What doesn't work:
- Charge Only mode
- HQ YouTube videos
- Camera/Camcorder
- Ringer switch
- Reboot recovery (Power menu & shell command)
- and other stuff
Bugs:
- Signal strength doesn't show
- Headphone icon doesn't show
- WiFi on boot (try "rm -r /data/system/wpa_supplicant" in terminal)
- Screen stays dim (move statusbar)
This ROM is port, so it maybe unstable at times. I am not responsible for what happens to your phone. You chose to flash this ROM.

Well, this looks really fun. I'm surprised even GB runs on old Dexter. Sure...why not JB too..

First off, I love you.
I hate to be the one to do this, but there's bad news about JB. Jelly Bean is on a whole other level. Yes, it is just 4.1.1 but there are big changes. Pun intended. Big because the ROM file happens to be so big that there isn't any app space left on the Galaxy S, even. The Cliq just wasn't built for it. I know what you're thinking, Apps2SD - But, your phone would then run too slow for every day use. Let's not waste our time. Let's just put all effort into this.
Last, David. I'm in, PM me for my Google Talk so we can communicate about developing this.

Whoa, hoss!
Maybe not - check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...9#post21755929I hate to be the one to do this, but there's bad news about JB. Jelly Bean is on a whole other level. [Edit] Looking over his script, it is seems very specific to HTC, but appears to work on SGS & Defy.Last edited by Saurus; 08-11-2012 at 08:48 AM.

Oops - wrong link. Yeah, Aroma is nice for guys that flash roms a lot, I guess. But I meant Amarullz' AD2SDX - [MOD][AD2SDX][ALPHA02] New Data To SD-EXT Mod - AMARULLZ DATA TO SD-EXT [OCT-20] - xda-developers
From his site:This would imply app data storage is limited only by the size of the SD 4EXT partition, with little or no performance degradation.WHAT IS IT?
This mod will move all Internal Memory (data) into sd-ext, "but not like data2ext", this mod will maintain the performance, because it still place dalvik-cache and system application data in Internal Memory.
Downside: SD card dies - phone dies.Hic sunt dracones...

Doubt it would be slow, if properly implemented. Would require a bit of rework for Moto phones; although the dev dropped it after a short time, the code is still there. And the downside, of course...dependency on removable p&p storage for basic operation would be a desperate measure. But may be a consideration.

ummmm guys... see this... [ROM] [CyanogenMod 10] Jelly Bean for HTC G1 - 4.1.1 Pre-Alpha by SoCal Devs [Video] - xda-developers.... ammm now say me... jb is not possible in the motodext.... ¬¬
- 08-15-2012, 08:27 PM #13
Never said it wasn't possible. It is, of course it is. But it's in no way practical. I mean, look at the speed that the G1 is running it on the video. Project Butter will never work, Google Now will never work (all Arm v7) so what's the point? Without those things, it's basically ICS...
I just don't see the point, what am I missing? Also - Let's not fill this thread up with JB talk and start a JB discussion thread.

New update up. Changed base ROM to CM9. Lots of stuff working now. ROM may be unstable, and can reboot randomly at times. This is also as far as I'll go with this ROM, so most likely no more updates.
