Ok, I've edited some files to have white text in the status bar/notifications area (date, clock, ongoing notifications, network name). Because MetaMorph doesn't like framework-res.apk for 2.1, you will have to manually replace the included .xml files in /framework-res/res/layout, resign the app, then create and sign an update.zip in order to flash any updates to framework.res.apk. Good news is that classes.dex can still be applied with metamorph fine, just place in sdcard/AndroidThemes/THEME_NAME/services.

Tested on Eclair2Cliq Alpha 4 but should work on all alphas.

ive been playing with my red theme and if i edit the background behind the ongoing

most apps will force close have you encountered this at all?

if you just apply framework-res by itself it should work. if you don't know how to resign apk's you can always replace with ninjamorph

open your framework-res.apk file with winrar
delete META-INF Folder
browse to /res/layout
delete status_bar.xml
delete status_bar_expanded.xml
delete status_bar_latest_event_content.xml
extract the same three files from White Text.rar
add them to /res/layout
close winrar
resign the .apk
create ans sign update.zip to flash framework-res.apk

..thanks.
it wont look good on regular Eclair2cliq, white font would be hard to see.
