Read This Before Flashing!!!
Unless you know what you are doing please ask what monster pack you should flash before flashing. Be sure to tell us the software on your phone as well!

[Important] Please read before posting!
Lately it has become obvious that people are not looking for the answer to their question before posting here in the L7 forum.
If you are having trouble don't just post away. Try a couple things first:
- Look in the L7 guides section
- Search Our search feature here works very very well. Nearly every possible question about the L7 has been asked in detail many many times.
If you have looked in the guides and tried a search and you still havent found the answer to your question then please make a post!
Thanks

always check your S/W and Bootloader Version before flashing your phone. to do this, press and hold the #, *, and call end button (red button) simultaneously while the phone is off.
if it is R4513 then flash it with a compatible R4513 MP.
if it is R4517 then flash it with a compatible R4517 MP.
Reminders for R4513 users. AER and EOR firmwares are known to be sticky so be aware and avoid flashing those MP to your R4513 phone. also if you have either one of these firmware in your phone, you cannot flash it to other R4513 or else you might brick it. However after the arrival of "PDS Patch" these two firmwares are nolonger considered as sticky. You can flash any firmware having PDS patch to these two firmwares.
Reminders for R4517 1ER users. do not attempt to flash R4517 25R MP if you want your phone to have hacked iTunes. if you have R4517 25R firmware in your phone, you cannot downgrade it to R4517 1ER. you might brick it.Last edited by Manas; 07-04-2008 at 12:16 AM.

Tips on flashing your phone
for flashing flex, language packs/fonts, and DRM always use Flash&Backup3. some fonts contains CG7 in it, just uncheck it.
for flashing a whole MP, the best program to flash it is RSD Lite.
if you want an MP which has the same firmware as yours and you want the looks of it, there is no need to flash it whole. just flash the CG2, CG4, and CG15 of it using Flash&Backup3.
if you want to change a firmware, make a backup of your CG2, CG4, and CG15 then flash a stock MP with a different firmware of your choice. after you changed your firmware, just flash your backup CG2, CG4, and CG15 using Flash&Backup3.
if your phone is not RSA Removed and if you want to flash your phone with an RSA Removed MP, then you will have to flash it whole using RSD Lite.
if your phone is RSA Removed and you want to change a font or a language pack, always use Flash&Backup3 and check if there is CG7 in it. just uncheck it if there is. if you forgot to uncheck it then your phone is bricked. more bricked if you are using R4517 so be careful.
if you are using R4517, then there is no need to flash an MP to your phone. you just need Flash&Backup3 for flashing. you can only flash CG2, CG4, and CG15 from any L7 phone whatever firmware it came from.
R4517 cannot be flashed with R4513 firmwares. brick! and there is a possibility of corrupt pds.
R4513 cannot be flashed with R4517. brick! but can be easily unbricked by just flashing a stock R4513 MP using RSD Lite.
if your are using R4517...1ER, do not flash any other R4517 MP or else you will lose your hacked iTunes forever.
if you are using R4513, always avoid AER and E0R.
if you are using R4513 AER or E0R then there is no need to flash an MP to your phone as you are stuck with it. just flash the CG2, CG4, and CG15 from an MP you like of course using Flash&Backup3.Last edited by kirklestat; 02-25-2007 at 03:40 AM.
