Flashing Errors & Their Solutions

Three highly recommended tools/softwares you need for the solutions. Don't use other versions, it wont work.

1. RSD Lite 3.0
2. Flash & Backup 3.0.3/3.0.4
3. USB Smart Cyclone P2K Easy Tool v.3.9 (search google to get it, as its a warez)

Case1. While Flashing with RSD Lite or Flash & Backup you get Critical Error 84
What to do
(a) Change the port (i.e. in the backside of the computer).
(b) Reinstall drivers.

Case2. While Flashing with RSD Lite you get Phone Code Sig Error (or any other error)
What to do
(a) Take out the battery. Get it fully charged with another phone or use another battery.
(b) Go to C:\.Program Files\.Motorola\.RSD Lite and remove all files with the expansion of ...log
(c) Connect the USB cable to another port
(d) Replace the cable if possible.
(e) Try to flash with Flash & Backup 3, all Code Groups except CG1.
(f) Try to flash the phone using USB-Smart Cyclone P2K Easy Tool v.3.9
(h) Try to flash the phone in another computer.
(i) If the above 6 processes doesn’t help PDS repair is needed.

Case3. While flashing all code groups were flashed successfully, but the phone is struck in Boot Loader.
What to do
This happens if u flash a MP is is not compatible for your phone. i.e if you are having AER/EOR, but u tried to flash ACR. So what to do.
(a) Flash your backup using RSD Lite
(b) Flash a stock MP using RSD Lite if having no backup

Case4. While flashing by Flash & Backup it gives an error while sending CG1.
What to do
(a) Flash your phone with RSD Lite
(b). Flash your phone with Flash & Backup. Flash all Code Groups except CG1

Case5. While flashing with RSD Lite after some Code Groups are send it gives error. In the phone you will find Mem_Map_Blank and the Computer recognizes the phone as unidentified device.
What to do
(a) It is necessary to use USB Smart Cyclone P2K Easy Tool v.3.9 to flash your phone using the backup.
(b) If this doesn’t help you need PDS repair.

Case6. While flashing everything passed successfully, but when the phone reboots, it struck with HelloMoto boot screen or it remains in bootloader.
What to do
(a) Flash the Lang Pack (CG4), DRM (CG15) or Font (CG4) from the backup using Flash & Backup, if the problem occurred because of flashing a Lang Pack or DRM or Font.
(b) Flash your backup using Flash & Backup 3. Flash all Code Groups except CG1.

Case7. If the battery discharges during flashing and you get an error in the phone unable to transfer or anything.
What to do
(a) Flash your backup using RSD Lite
(b) Or if u get an error like case2 or case5, follow the steps described in case2 or case5.

Case8. If you are having a RSA removed Firmware but u flashed a Lang Pack ,DRM or a Font which is having CG7 in the shx file, u will get an error. You my struck in bootloader or HellomotoBootscreen or anything
(a) Flash CG1, CG3, CG7, CG18 of the previous firmware you were using
(b) Or Flash your backup using RSD Lite

From Case1 to Case8 if none of the process helps you
(a) Take the phone to a Service Center
(b) Or Repair PDS (according to the process given below)

Case9. After flashing the phone, if it becomes completely blank and cant be forced into Bootloader
What to do
(a) Charge the battery (by anyway). To force the phone into Bootloader, press * & # simultaneously and insert the battery. Now flash your backup using RSD Lite
If the above process doesn’t help
(a) Take the phone to a Service Center
(b) Or Repair PDS

Case10. If you flash your phone with a Firmware having different Bootloader version (e.g 09.02 over 08.D0)
What to do
(a) Try to flash your backup with the help of the solutions in case2 & case5
If the above process doesn’t help
(a) Take the phone to a Service Center
(b) Or Repair PDS

Repairing PDS (Process discovered by Yuet)

1. Only possible for 4513 platform
2. Don’t try it for 4517 platform.
3. Only possible if your phone is detected as "S Blank Neptune LTE2" by RSD Lite
4. If u can force your phone into Bootloader, connect the phone to RSD Lite and see if it detects your phone as "S Blank Neptune LTE2". Now close RSD Lite and start the Steps To Repair PDS given below (1st process).
5. If u can’t turn your phone into Bootloader, connect the phone to RSD Lite and see if it detects your phone as "S Blank Neptune LTE2". Now close RSD Lite and start the Steps To Repair PDS given below (1st process).
6. If RSD Lite detects your phone but it is not "S Blank Neptune LTE2", then flash this file for 08.D0 bootloaders using RSD Lite to get "S Blank Neptune LTE2".This file is only for 08.D0 Bootloader. The process is given below (2nd process).
7. To get rid of sticky firmwares or if u want to downgrade ur Bootloader using PDS repair visit Yuet Blog

[Guide] PDS Repair

1. Start P2K Easy Tool v.3.9
2. Take out the battery from the phone and put it back
3. Connect your phone to the computer via USB
4. In P2K Easy Tool v.3.9, select your phone model as L7 SLVR
5. Click "Repair" tab, check "Full repair PDS zone (with DSP checksum)"
6. Click "Do Selected Jobs", in a minute you should see messages like "repair ok"
7. If the repair process failed, try to charge your battery and start from step1 again. If the process is successful go to step 8.
8. Unplug & plug USB cable, take out battery and put it back, wait a few second for PC to detect your phone.
9. Click "Flash" tab, check "Flash SHX" and make sure that the phone model is correct
10. Double click the text box for "flash SHX" to open a full SHX file for your phone
11. Click "Do Selected Jobs", and wait for the flashing process to complete
12. Now your phone is alive again

To get "S Blank Neptune LTE2"

1. Open RSD Lite, and turn on your phone in flash mode by turning off the phone and then press and hold * and # keys, then power on your phone.
2. Connect the phone to computer via USB; Open the flash file (downloaded) with the RSD Lite and click 'Start' button.
4. Wait for the flashing process to complete, then the phone will try to restart but it won't turn on as expected.
5. Unplug the USB cable from the phone; Take the battery out for 15 seconds.
6. Connect the USB cable to the phone, without the and it will say 'Unknown device.
7. Disconnect USB cable, put battery back in the phone.
8. Open Device Manager in your PC (right click on My Computer and click Manage) and connect the USB cable to the phone. It will recognize it as "Flash Interface".
9. The RSD Lite will detect the phone as "S Blank Neptune LTE2". If not detected, try another USB port and repeat step 5-8
10. Close RSD Lite
11. Now follow the Steps To Repair PDS

Then take to Service Center. TestPoint from SmartMoto & SmartClip has to be done. No other options available.

Note: ALL Flashing Software (F&B3, P2K EasyTool, RSD Lite) issues the JUMP command.
