My conundrum. Wireless Networking.
Ok, for all you uber-geeks out there that have a bit more networking knowledge than I do:
My problem is that the wireless router is on the other side of the house and my G1 does not have the range to connect to it.
Moving the router is not an option.
I would like to use my wifi capable laptop to connect to the router and then use a second wireless card to connect my G1 via ad hoc.
Now the crux: the G1 does pick up the ad hoc network.
Any ideas on how I can fix this, or some other way for me to use my G1 via wireless involving the laptop?

Thats an option. Should work, no reason why it wouldn't. I have the same problem. But my plan is to buy a new router and use the old one as a repeater. <3 ww-drt

Excuse me. I seem to have left out a word on the previous post.
The G1 does **NOT** pick up the ad hoc.
Any ideas?
Edit: Sorry. I realized I sounded snippy. No offense meant mate. Just extremely tired.

You can try and find a larger antenna adapter or extenter...for the router of course.

I tried convincing my mum to go along with that, she was not too pleased.
(Broke college student living at home. lol.)
Anyway, the router is in her room, it being the only place it can be, on the other side of the house.
I guess what I need to do, is some how turn my laptop into a router or repeater.
Of course, if Android connected to ad hoc networks, this would be a lot easier.
Has anybody tried to get it to connect ad hoc?

i think this is what you mean, the instructions are a bit long-winded but it seems you can connect your phone to ad hoc access points.
