G1 Freezes while charging and powered OFF?!

Ok so here is one I haven't seen before...

At night I turn my G1 off and connect it to the charger before heading off to bed. Never had a problem with that before.

I just did a warranty replacement because my phone was always rebooting itself etc. Well I have had the new phone for a few days and everything is working fine. BUT at night, while the phone is off and plugged in it seems to freeze up. When I wake up the charge light is green but when I unplug it the light stays on and there is no response from any of the buttons. The only way to "wake up" the phone is to remove and reinsert the battery.

Anyone else had this happen?

Any luck figuring out a cause/fix?

Mine started doing the same thing about a week ago. Now it won't turn on at all. Did anyone figure out what the problem is?
