HTC Magic passes FCC, heads for T-Mobile

HTC Magic, a.k.a Sapphire, is all set to show up as the next Gphone for T-Mobile packed with 7.2Mbps HSDPA and UMA. With Magic set for a European launch in April, we are expecting a similar event on this side of the globe.

I really, really hope this phone has UMA. So far I have found only 1 site that says this. CellPhoneSignal. Every other site simply, well, cites CellPhoneSignal. Their track record is spotty, at best. I even went so far as to look at the FCC documents. Maybe there is some code in there I could not figure out, but I saw nothing about UMA. So I take it with a grain of salt, but I really, really hope it has it. Of course, this begs the question, how do we root something that ships with Cupcake? We can't downgrade to RC29, we'd lose the virtual keyboard!

I really think, as previous posters have said, that we should iron out the kinks with the G1 runing android first. Instead of flooding the market with a thousand iphone beaters with the same faulty os.

I'm still calling this the g2, but what I see now is something similar to EA (Electronic Arts) were they had something good but messy @ the same time and hardly any support. This is my first htc phone and right now this isn't looking pretty

I'll try to help now and then but hardly ever answer through PM. Keep It simple and easy to understand for other people to understand. Hit the Thanks button if I helped.
