Motorola CliqXT could get Official Gingerbread

We all know how disappointed were all the CliqXT (and Quench) users worldwide when Motorola finally announced to put an end at the Eclair (Android 2.1) trial that was going on with T-Mobile. As far as I know, nothing as changed unfortunatelly on that. So you tell me, where will Gingerbread come from? Keep reading

It all started as a porting proyect: Turl, one of the ModMyMobile Developers decided to try his hands at porting CyanogenMod 7 (Gingerbread) to his own CliqXT. Weeks after weeks, with hours of hard work and overnights he finally managed to fill the list of "DOES WORK!" with good stuff we all expect from a stable rom: radio & data, wifi, camera,...

Official Gingerbread?? I woke up this morning reading on my Twitter timeline that CyanogenMod Team member Kmobs (PersianOwn) said he wants to work with the author (Turl) to make his port an official CyanogenMod version!

This is an awesome news, as it would mean the CliqXT could get Gingerbread officially supported by CyanogenMod! And we could then also hope for CliqXT's brothers Cliq and Backflip to get the same love to follow :-).

Yet there is still work to do, but many people already use Turl's port of CM7 on their CliqXT as a daily driver and they are happy with it!

That's great news! Turl's port of Cyanogen mod 7 is already more stable than most of the other roms that I've tried on my Cliq XT. I'm very happy to hear that he's getting the recognition for his hard work.

Have to say I've been using Turl's release since r9, and I can't wait to see what's in the future, Congratulations Turl on your amazing work.
