I have the following:
Win Vista Home Premium w/SP1
Motorola Phone Tools 5.0
Motorola SLVR L7 (s/w ver R4513_G_08.B7.DCR_RB)
The problem: After installing MPT 5.0, my laptop connected to the internet for about 10 minutes. Then data flow dropped to 0. I checked my phone and it appeared to have shut down. I restarted it and it displayed a white screen for several seconds before starting up. Then it went with the normal HelloMoto and started. Once I verified my phone was still connecting to the internet, I reconnected it to my laptop and was unable to get any data transfer. The Vista network center now showed the connection to the phone as having limited or no connectivity. I reinstalled the MPT and got the same result. I also shut down the phone and computer and restarted with the same results.
Next, I set it up on my other laptop with Win XP w/SP3. Pretty much the same course of events took place. It was fine at first, then the phone (or maybe the MPT) locked up and the phone became non-responsive. I had to unplug it from the computer and restart it.
Has anybody seen this before? Help!
I have since reloaded the OS on my Vista laptop believing the problem might have been some corruption occurring in the OS. This does not seem to be the case. With a fresh OS load, I still get the limited or no connectivity on the connection through my L7.
