offline maps with gps
is there any app already out like that or somethin i can do to get offline maps

Hi,
why don't you just check out MapDroyd - it's a free off-line map viewer for Android. It uses OpenStreetMap content available for the whole planet.

I don't have much knowledge how to get offline maps but I can help you in GPS enabled service based vehicles or mobile phone through which you can get positive impact on the efficiency’s and productivity’s of any commercial fleet based business that uses them.

You can try Maverick.apk i use it and its great..just explore the map while you have wifi or 3g coverage, and the app stores the data in to the sd so you can view maps offline

do we hv to activate gps? or its free? i mean my phone has gps.. so i hv to do anything extra?????

what do you mean?? to pay an extra for gps? no just turn it on and it starts working with your maps or wichever appdo we hv to activate gps? or its free? i mean my phone has gps.. so i hv to do anything extra?????
