- What is AppsInstaller and what does it do ?

It is a small program to let you install apps from SD Card. You no longer have to surf the net from G1 to install an app. Just download the app you want on your computer, transfer to your SD Card and start AppsInstaller. If the app is compatible with G1, it will install.

- Can it uninstall apps too ?

We'll pass that question on to the Google Android team which decides what an app can and cannot do and as of now we can't do this.

- When I select an app, nothing happens, wtf?

Android SDK has been around for a year with several versions. Developers have created many versions of their apps for different SDK not all of which work on G1. If nothing happens when you select an app, its not meant for G1.

Simply put, if an app is build to work on G1, it will install with AppsInstaller.


PS: Opera Mini is one such app which won't work(as of now).

- So what do I do with this dead app I just downloaded ?

Search, find, look for a new version of that app, you'll most probably find one. If not, contact the developer, and if still find nothing ? bad luck, move on to some other app.

Answering yes to an "or"-question is always a little unprecise, don't get me wrong. Do you mean the first or the last?

the last part. 3rd party apps are not given the permission to uninstall other apps for security reasons. So you have to use the built-in procedure.

ok please help me out here
has you can see am new here anyways i have tha apps installer and wanted to know if i can download games and install them by using apps installer but i dont see them there at all


how do i know what games are compatable for the g1? and is this supposed to be like the apps for the iphone or itouch?

sd card is not functioning in phone but will read on computer you guys know why it just stopped functioning says replace sd card have tried other sd cards still no luck i have even formatted the card still nothing any help would be appreciated thanks
