are you using telnet or adb ? If you are using telnet you can detach the cable, if you are using adb, there is a different command to copy the IMG file to phone. The guide here describes the steps in either case.

OK I did everything on Telnet with no errors but when updating pressing Home + Power It starts it gets half trough the updates and then it says verification failed and Installation aborted

try downloading the modded RC30/RC8 again, the latest is v1.3.1 , try that.

not the whole thing. download the modded rc30/rc8 zip, rename it to "update", put it in sd card and do the ALT+S update.

tried rc7 and it is a bad zip file keeps coming up with unexpected end of archive and wont copy the files over
