Can't mount /system to read/write with ADB
I'm using the ADB Shell, and I haven't had any issues until now. I downgraded to RC29, and I'm now attempting to use ADB to upgrade to modded RC30 using the wiki. But every time I run
I get an error sayingmount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
I've also tested to see if the /system was read/write, but it isn't.mount: Operation not permitted
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!
//edit// I get the same error when I run it from Terminal Emulator on the phone.

Well, of course, as soon as I posted this, I fixed it. I did the rest of the steps through telnet on the phone and it worked. I flashed the Dev Phone bootloader, and am now flashing the hacked RC30.
Well, I'm excited!

I could never get it to mount either. What did you do to get it to mount the system directory with r/w privileges?

please help others .. don't just say "i fixed it" - tell us what you did to fix it, or if you did something wrong the first time .. this will benefit others ..
how would you feel if you asked a question, and the only reply is "i know the answer, but not going to tell you" ..
