I am about to, hopefully, root. Should I choose a modified image JRC33- Fv1.42 over JFv1.43 ADP1.1 or do I install both of them??
I basically want tether, double touch, and what ever cool apps come out.

Not both, one or the other. Generally either will do what you want. For a discussion of the differences check this thread

and then make your decision.

Thanks Mike, I think through time I will see the differences between ADP and RC33, for now I want multitouch with RC33.

They both have multitouch.
I'm using ADP because it takes up less memory, freeing up more for installed apps. The downside is that ADP's IM app only has google chat, not AIM, Yahoo, or MSN, but there are third party apps that can handle that. ADP also does not include Myfaves.

Does JF1.42 include the radio update or is it still separate?

Hey all, do the paid and copy protected apps not show up on jf's 1.42 rc9 as well or only on the adp? I have an rc 9 and can't see any paid apps. Any idea on how to get them?

I installed the JF Updater on my phone earlier today, and it downloaded the JFv1.42 firmware, and actually was nice enough to package it as update.zip on my memory card for me. then it grabbed another update, this one labeled update.zip.md5 if i remember right (i deleted both, thought i'd grab one off of this site instead). Was that second file the radio update? If anyone has used this app, please let me know. If it isn't, can I find the radio update somewhere and apply it?

the .md5 is a file containing the md5sum of the .zip file. It's used for verification purposes, to ensure that the file downloaded correctly.
