I just bought a G1 phone with T-Mobile, and was curious about "jailbreaking". This is really my first smartphone purchase, so i have no knowledge whatsoever on it. Ive been hearing about jailbroken iPhones, but not G1's. I know youre not supposed to do it, but thats not my concern. My concern is leaving out a step and ruining my phone and wasting money. So what are the risks involved with jailbreaking? Also, what exactly am I getting out if it, besides free apps?
Rooting (jailbraking) makes your phone faster, it also lets you upgrade your firmware im not sure what firmware g1 comes with but I think the G1 has 2.2 roms so if you root your G1 you can have Android 2.2 etc.. Also you can install themes on your phone to make it look better
