z4root (easiest way)

alright, ive found a bunch of ways to root the cliq. By far the easiest was the visionary app and the z4root. both of these you can download, move to sdcard, and install the .apk


download the .apk, or unzip the file
make sure your phone is plugged into the computer, and adb push the file to the sdcard (or drag and drop)
then
you can unplug your phone now, and get astro file manager on the market.
launch your file manager, and tap on the .apk file, then open app manager" (or something like that)
install the .apk
launch whichever one you downloaded, and press root (for z4root) or permroot(for visionary)

after its done, you now have a rooted phone!

Settings/Manage Applications/Unknown sources. check the box.

[MENTION=3183337]MotoMudder[/MENTION] are you sure this works on a AT&T Backflip? AT&T blocks installs from outside of the market.
