Hi leonl sorry for the late response but i can help you for a bit...

Have you looked into the APN settings on your G1 Device in doing so just go into Settings > Wireless Controls > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > Menu > New APN in doing so you will be prompted to make a new one.

Now you can create the new APN with this:

    Name: AT&T
    APN: wap.cingular
    Proxy: leave blank
    Port: leave blank
    Username:WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
    Password:CINGULAR1
    Server: leave blank
    MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
    MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
    MMS Port: 80
    MCC:310
    MNC:410
    APN Type: leave blank

Also just to let you know that Google sign in is a web feature and you need to unlock the phone with a Data plan, if you have already your set. Mind you that you can only surf the web via wifi because your on a pre paid plan.

I'll try to help now and then but hardly ever answer through PM. Keep It simple and easy to understand for other people to understand. Hit the Thanks button if I helped.

    GoPhone SIMs still working?

Do the AT&T Gophone SIMs still work?
I have a "Pay as you go" Rate plan on it, used the $30 credit to buy MediaNet 100MB for $19.95 (there isn't a unlimited $19.95/mo anymore?).
The SIM works in the GoPhone from AT&T, but in an Android phone i have (to test, not a G1) all i get is "No SIM".
The phone is not locked in any way and should work with any SIM i can throw at it, reading so much about G1 users on Gophone SIMs, i figured i try that to get data on that phone.

Did i come too late...as in id AT&T put an end to using it on non-GoPhones?

    Thanks,

    Daniel

The airtime bonus locked the SIM to the gophone for 180 days, they would not change the IMEI (if that's how it keeps track)
And from sound of it, refunding will not be easy, since i "used up" the bonus.
Added media net, not aware of the 180 day lock.
So in other phone it was a total no go.
I don't see the harm, i bought a phone, IMEI proofs it, now let me use my bonus on whatever phone i want to use it on.......
Too bad i never once saw any posts mention this, all used their gphone SIM with or without airtime bonus straight away in their G1s or what not.
All activated it in the gophone before adding medianet and moving it over to ther phone.

let me know if $user missed a little tidbit here.
