G1 Unlock & Data Plan Questions

I'm gonna get a G1 and unlock it for AT&T, but I have a quick question.

Would that data plan be fine for the phone? Since it doesn't use 3G? I'm only gonna use the phone for

• AIM
• Facebook
• Internet Browsing

In addition to the obvious text messaging and calling (which i rarely do)?

ur link doesn't go anywhere.

For me I don't want to pay an extra $30 a month for data so I just use wifi off an unlocked phone.
