    Issue activating G1

I just bought a G1 from a friend who had already activated the phone, and before giving it to me they did a factory reset.
When I try to activate the phone I get the error "No network connection"
I have the original SIM and my own SIM which is also for T-mobile. I've tried the APN settings for t-mobile that are on this site, and I still get the same problem. Anyone know what I could do?

[EDIT]: When I try to activate it using my sim card I get "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server" I have a data plan on my account so I don't think that is the issue. But I could be wrong.

I had the same problem. Its most likely that you have the wrong data plan, not by cost, but if you are coming from a BB or a WM device, they have different plans for each phone. Alls you have to do is call TM (don't go to a store, they are clueless) and tell them you now have a g1 and need your data package switch for android devices. Took about a day for it to work for me, could be faster though.

Thanks, I actually contacted TMO through their online chat service and they changed my data plan. Now it works.
