Activate G1 with Sidekick Data Plan?

Hey people, I have a G1 and I changed from Pay by the Day to Sidekick today. Somehow I don't have data access yet, but will tonight... hopefully.
So, are there any special APN Settings needed to use this plan?
Can you go through the initial setup with the Sidekick's prepaid data plan?

People using the sk plan .. can u confirm that its still works after the newest update? it seems the web 2 go wont work anymore and im hoping thats not the same for us

didn't work for me when I changed so I'm backto Pay by the day right now...
I don't know if I need to have any special APN for it to work, though..
If there are, I could try again

I tried everything to get the G1 to work with the side kick prepaid plan. Without success. I get it so far that the G1 shows the 3G, G, or EDGE sign. However I can not connect to the internet.
ALl the different APN's found in internet don't work with G1 and s/k plan combination.

Needed to sign up the monthly plan with internet add on. About 65 bugs a month.

Brian i read your post saying that you used your sidekick plan with your g1. I want to switch my prepaid plan to the sidekick plan because it seems cheaper and i'd get wifi access. So if you can please, can you tell me your apn settings

I can confirm that you do NOT need a special data plan to activate a G1. i bought a used G1, went to t-mobile and got a sim card activated with the Sidekick plan. did a hard reset on my phone to get rid of the previous users information(which is how i learned you have to have a special data plan just to use it and went looking for a way) , reboot the phone in safe mode, add a new APN with the sidekick information(will post full tutorial if anyone is interested) then activated wifi.

I have full features, MMS is tested, my service status shows up as "3G" and i'm able to browse the web, use aim, marketplace. basically use everything in the phone with a sidekick plan. let me know if you need more info.
