V3 Driver / Connection Issues? Try This.

It was the cable. Two stores later, my laptop now recognizes the phone and I was able to perform a full backup on it.

I have found many references to adding the date, but Danation I'll take your advice on which link to use.

Sweet, glad you got it working!

For the date, a seem edit is all that is needed. Let me look up which seem edit it is.

k, it's seem 0032 offset BE (1 for no date, 0 for date on home screen.)

Yes I am a newbie to modding mobile devices but very literate on PC's. P2K Commander ver. 5.1.0 crashed every time I tried to run it. However P2k Commander in Java ran like a dream. . You are absolutely correct about Win XP hot-fixes. I just reinstalled Win XP MCE w SP2 (I also run Vista "ugh",Win 7 and Mandriva Linux). But I still could not get my RAZR V3 to be recognized ! It was me just not thinking. After the XP install. I never ran updates!! After installing SP3 and the 68 additional M$ updates P2K Commander in Java connected. So for the great tutorial. Now I can play!
PS. I don't usually use smiles but these were pretty cool (LMAO)!!

just download p2k self installing software from mod my moto and it works fine!!!!!!!

First, kudos to apristel for their Guide(s). I was running in circles bashing my head into my desk because I could not get past the USB connect. The first install worked, the rest would not recognize the drivers. I was about to give up when I noticed apristel's second GUIDE amongst the pages of this thread. So, being a stubborn ass, I uninstalled again (only about the fifth -or was it fiftieth?- time) and tried once more. Upon starting P2K Tools, it immediately crashed. I was about to run my fist thru the screen but tried RSD Lite instead, and.....nothing happened. I wanted to scream, throw my V3 in the toilet, and sledge my PC. Something told me to first look at the device drivers instead, and holy hell - EVERYTHING was there! No install messages, no "Click here(s)" just TADA!

Now here I am @ 6am (up all night) and have absolutely no clue what to do, nor one iota of where to look for help in using RSD Lite or even modding in general. Could anyone point me to a guide that will tell this dumb arse how RSDL works and what I can do?
