    V3 malfunction

I have a V3 that turns on starts up shows signal strength and everything looks fine. The buttons then become inactive except for the power button. Then it tries to launch the browser and says network unavailable and the only way to get out is to turn off the phone. Any idea what would cause this.

Probably flashing your phone again will fix it. Or maybe this flex will fix it.

ALWAYS TAKE BACKUPS FIRST AND HAVE A FULLY CHARGED BATTERY!!!

Please ask in the V3 section.

    Moved.

We need to know what version of the V3 you have, to do that you need to put the phone in bootloader mode. With it powered off press and hold the # and * keys while pressing power. If the screen appears black shine a light on it.

R374 is the standard V3 if you have that one you can flash the keypad fix file

For the network issue you need web settings for your provider, depending on who it is they may be findable in the download section, or you may need to put them in by hand, or have your provider push them to your phone.

Anyway, sounds more like a broken Keypadflex cable, if all buttons lead to default web browsing.

I check the version and it is the standard v3. Can you walk me through flashing the phone or point me to the best guide. Thanks for all the advice.

    V3 Keys

I hate to confirm Dumba's response, but I've had two V3 units with similar problems. In each case it was the keypad flex cable. Replaceable yes, but it's a pain in the **** to do!
