Bricked V3 After Flash - Tried Everything - Requesting Assistance From The Pros

Hi guys,

I've bricked my V3 after/during flashing it using RSD Lite on Windows XP. Searched and tried everything for two days and had no success. Screen on the V3 won't turn on but the keypad lights up. Main problem is that RSD Lite won't recognise that the phone is plugged in to the computer, so I can't get a Monsterpack onto it.

Here's what I've done so far (all the details):

Tried to flash with new firmware, and RSD froze part-way though the process, so I pulled the USB cable from the V3. Thought I could just put a Monsterpack over it, but the phone won't turn on. The keypad lights up for around 10 seconds when I press the power key, but the screen is black - no text at all. Tried the # + * + power thing and can't get into the boot mode, so tried # + * + power thing with the USB cable plugged in and then inserted the battery, but still no luck, software (e.g. RSD, P2K Tools, etc) won't recognise the phone and it won't go into boot mode.

I'm getting the "your device has malfunctioned and cannot be recognized by Windows" error from the computer, so the computer knows that the phone is plugged in, but doesn't know what to do with it (I guess).

It's not a battery issue (I charged the battery using another phone), and I've tested the USB cable with other devices so its not that either. Don't know what the bootloader is nor the firmware as I can't get into bootloader mode. I've tried with all programs that I know of (RSD Lite, P2K Tools, Flash and Backup, Motorola Phone Tools) but nothing seems to work. Also tried reinstalling the drivers but still no success.

So, what now? Sorry for all the details but I thought I may as well put in all I know to not waste your time. Is there some sort of super secret trick that I can do to get RSD to recognise the phone?

Would you be able to explain (or point me in the right direction) of what "testpoint" is and how I do it? And what the chances of this fixing my broke V3 are?

Go to the very top of this page and you'll see(Guides)click on it,on the left you should see(v3)place your mouse on it and you should see(unlocking) place your mouse on that and you should see testpoint follow that guide hope this helps.

Hi guys,

Did the testpoint thing, and after a couple of times it was connected as "Neptune" to the pc.

RSD didn't work but I managed to get P2K Tools to flash a Monsterpack, and now its workin again!!

hey ya'll my fone is the pink v3 and i ave flashed it but it wont power on all it does is light up the KB then goes bk out y? then i tried *# then hit power @ the sametime but it jus goes to the boot loader screen but wen i tryd flashing it again nnothing happens can sum body plzzzzzzzzzzzzz help me i am beggin ya'll nicely

Helps to understand the terminology. Unlocking means removing the subsidy lock so the phone can be used with a different carrier (the process requires a working phone). If you have bricked it, start at the top of this thread and follow all the suggestions provided.
