I'm assuming that you're saying when you open the phone the display goes off and when you close it, it works... if thats the case then usually a flash would be enough to fix this problem, but every now and then the only way to get around it is to reflash the bootloader, before you do post your bootloader and firmware version...

    Yes, usually a bootloader conflict.

hmmm i'm just curious... what's the difference between bootloaders of the same model? is it good to update the bootloader to the latest version or would it be better to use the 07.D0 one?

The older bootloaders are better... much better, the idea behind bootloaders is (for one) actually pertaining to security, as soon as modders begin to understand the old ones (ulocking and all) they (motorola) come out with a newer harder one to crack, more or less this is as a result of Carrier preasure (cingular, tmobile etc.), the phone companies dont want customers to switch to other carriers with the phones which are usually subsidized so thats their reason behind it

anything below 08.26 good to have...

The older (07.xx) bootloaders have no RSA protection, which means you can change anything on the phone without restrictions.
