How I Killed BL 8.29.

is your BL version 8.29??
download the F&B3 8.29 BL profile. copy the loader file into F&B3 loader folder, and copy the profile file into F&B3 profile folder. restart F&B3 then look for the profile RAZR v3(8.29)

i followed your guide to the letter, but f&b always gives errors whe flashing the downgrader. i must have done the TP a dozen times... still a no go

i get this log every time. it only says phone unplugged in the pic cuz i unplugged it. otherwise the phone stays connected for some time and doesnt flash CG's... just error, error, error. Stubborn Junk!!

Zedbra, it needs patience. I have tried many times and downgraded successfully. I followed Butterjoe's first step and Flaterik's second step to get job done. Good luck.

yeah that sounds like what's going on - when the phone is closed I have "got n00b?" on the outer screen upside down, and when it's open I have a blank white main screen with the normal "insert sim" screen on the outer screen.

I used the 7D0 from the bootloader pack to get this far. The only other 7D0 I see anywhere is the R374_V3BL 07.D0.shx, which so far I've never been able to flash. Is there another 7D0 somewhere else I can try?

Aha! TestPoint+Flashing R374_V3BL 07.D0.shx without cahnging the DLD worked! Got another error on Sending the Loader, but the phone starts up normally now!

Is there any way to verify unlockedness other than a non-carrier SIM? I don't have the sim this phone was being unlocked to use (it's for someone else. yes, a girl. yes, she's already my girlfriend.)

ok, i noticed RSDlite gives me two different sets of info each time i TP. one shows Bootloader Version:0200 and Phone Type: (Engineering) the other one says N/A for all properties. i have seen this before when doing TP on other models, but never paid much attention to it cuz i always got the results i wanted. Dunno why this is giving me so much trouble

Whew!! finally did it!! i managed to downgrade my 8.29 BL differently than stated in butterjoes' guide, but thanks to joe for doing the research and posting this guide to point me in the right direction..... anyway this is how i did it(no need to flash different MP) :

1: using p2k easy tools4.1 do Full PDS Repair Zone(need TP for this)
2: dont complete the PDS repair, after it puts BL 0200 for engineering onto phone the program powers phone down and asks you to power up again to complete repair. This is where i unplugged the phone, clicked ok so the PDS repair fails.
3: TP phone again, then flash the 7.d0 downgrader. Somehow i got 7.E0, but it worked.
4: TP again and flash any MP even your own backup.

phone should power right up. if it doesnt you may have to do the PDS repair(complete it this time )
Once phone is in working order, you can flash the 7.d0 downgrader or any .shx file without any problems

Basically all i did was interrupt the bootloader in engineering and flashed a different bootloader over it. Hope this helps someone else. for me it seemed simpler. all flashing done with p2k easy4.1

i was pokin' around and figured why not do PDS repair, when it hit me.... CRAP!! PDS repair lowers bootloader to engineering!! so i decided to "interrupt" the process to flash whatever i wanted. and it worked!!

i hope others benefit from all of this

BL 8.26 is simple. just use the 8.26 to 7.d0 downgrader available in the downloads section for v3

first you need to know which phone you have. check the s/w version and google the first four digits. or just post it here and we can point you in the right direction

does the sim card need to be phone to get the mods to work,

well Atlantis, do you know how to do a Testpoint?? you must TP to downgrade from BL 8.29. Personally, i like my guide the best. it works every time 100%. if you dont know how to TP, then google "how to testpoint v3". there are all sorts of guides and youtube videos about the procedure.
