bricked?
Hi all. I seem to have bricked my other Razr trying to flash R374_G_0E.42.17R_PDS005_LP0039_DRM0001_JPJAVA_G_0E _V3_01_10R_GSMV3XXT677GA193_1FF.shx on to it. I backed it up first with FB3, but it won't restore. The keypad light as soon as the battery goes in. RSD Lite says it is connected to "S Blank Neptune LTE", so I assume that means the bootloader is blown. It was 07.E0, R374_G_E0.42.15R, GSMV3YCIN01NA1CD. I also assume I don't have to test point it a
s per the Razr v3 Testpoint - Guides, it already is. Now what would be good to try?

I would start by flashing the BL7.D0 followed by a MP.

try flashing the backup file using RSDlite, hopefully you backed up in shx format.
i have been messing with my old v3 lately and bricked it several times!!(forgot how easy it is to brick
) and i flashed the backup with RSD..... worked every time no probs!!

Also give a try to flash with p2ket.
Because sometimes what rsd lite fails to do, p2ket does it successfully.

it's unbricked, took quite a while following suggestions in various posts. P2K didn't want to play nice, RSDLite couldn't complete the 07.D0 flash, eventually I pulled the battery when it said it was rebooting and the bl took. Phone still would not turn on, but the keypad light was finally off, and the phone would boot to the programming screen. I figured as long as I had comm there was hope, so I searched the download archive (big thanks to all contributors) and found a collection of bootloaders, used FB3 to flash 08.23, the MP from my first post, and we're back in business. One question, what is the point of downgrading the bootloader? This exercise makes me think 07.D0 doesn't like R734_G_0E.42.17.R.

congrats on you first un-brick

downgrading the bootloader to 7.d0 remomves RSA protection for modding purposes. also some MP's require 7.d0 bootloader or the MP will brick your phone.
so if i understand you correctly, you flashed bootloader 8.23 and then flashed your backup which ultimately restored the phone..... is that correct??

yes, that seems to be correct.
He upgraded the Bootloader version.
And one problem is that, he cannot flash all Mp of his liking.

Thanks, would not have tried it without the support I found here. I found out about RSA in another post yesterday. Anyway, I had flashed the backup and Apristel's n00b mp, but the phone wouldn't run until the 8.23 bl went back on. It gets confusing with P2K, RSD, FB3 when one connects and goes part way through an operation then hiccups. FB3 is my choice for flashing, the phones were unlocked by the vendor. I know I'll have to go back to 07.D0 again when I want to mod more, but I have to learn how to do somethings first.

one thing I noticed, the phone that had 08.26 didn't take 08.23, I had to put 08.26 back on.
- 10-13-2009, 03:53 PM #13
that is odd, you should be able to go between 8.26,8.23,7.E0, and 7.d0 without any problems

I wondered about that, I'll be trying it again in the next couple days after I get a few things done. I'd like to have the same bl on all my phones.

use Archy's 08.26 Bootloader Downgrader to 07.D0 Version2 to downgrade to 7.d0
http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/down...o=file&id=3000
if for some reason you have a problem flashing this file, then flash the 7.E0 bootloader first
http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/down...o=file&id=2709
then flash the older 7.d0 downgrader
http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/down...o=file&id=7272
i know that Archy's v2 downgrader is supposed to work for all bootloaders, bbut i actually had a problem using it with 7.E0
or if you dont want the 7.d0 bootloader, i recommend at least 7.E0...... either one removes RSA verification
