This Is All I Want To Do

I have an older moto v3a which isn't the greatest but another lmost just like it that's the better phone. All I want to be able to is take the motherboard out of one and put it into the other. Isn't that's all that's needed to make it work with my cell phone company?? The motherboard?? Thanks for your help and some sort of diagram would help because I hope it's not complicated. I heard it's not. Loking forward to hearing soon about this. Thanks and have a good evening.

It is an altel CDMA phone. Not much support for it here. It is more like the v3i, but then again it isn't. Have a look in the CDMA section, many questions have been answered there in the past, even though today there is little movement. Most of us here have GSM service.

Please do not kiss, or lick, the Monitor.

unless both phones are v3a, it is unlikely the parts will work together.
you could switch the keypad flex, LCD, and Mobo into another housing if all you're trying to gain is a "pretty" phone

the job is not exactly difficult, but also not simple. parts can be broken easily if handled rough.
you must have light hands as to not damage the LCD, Antenna or Flex cables
there is a disassembly guide on this site somewhere, or you can check out themotoguide.com for a nice walkthru

They are both moto v3a's. One from straight talk which I now have. The other moto was from tmobile but has a sim card. What I am trying to do since the straight talk phone is not in very good shape is to take out the motherboard and put it into the tmobile phone. As I had said, is the better phone. So I'm assuming that as long as straight talk can still read the motherboard, shouldn't matter which moto I use??

the Straight Talk phone is a v3a, but the T-Mo phone is either a v3 or v3r not v3a.
you are correct, the mobo is the main part of the phone which communicates with the carrier. however you cannot simply swap the mobo into another phone and expect positive results. as mentioned, all hardware must remain together for functionality. LCD, Flex cables, and mobo are not compatible between different model v3's

naturally changing motherboards will not change the functionality of the phone, because this is where the f/w resides. the only thing you can do is change the casing making the handset itself visibly different. in other words, you cannot make the v3a perform the same as the T-Mo phone.

i hope this clears up any questions
