    BlackBerry Shortcuts and Codes

These codes work on all Curve models and most will work on Pearl models as well. I personally don't know if they will work on the Bold or any other model.

    Event Log
This is an important one because as the event log fills up, it can slow you device down considerably!
From the homescreen: Hold down the "Alt" key and type "L" "G" "L" "G". This will bring up a list that should look similar to this:

    Next press the BlackBerry/Menu key

From the list, select "Clear Log". This dialogue will pop up:

Select "Delete". Your log should now look more like this:

    __________________________________________________ _____________

    Decibel Meter

Hold down "Alt" and type "N" "M" "L" "L". This will change you signal bars:

    To a signal strength number:

*Note - On a Pearl model you will need to press the "BN" key twice for the letter "N". Also your number should be much smaller than in the screeny. The sample pics were taken on a deactivated phone with the radio turned off.
    __________________________________________________ ______________

    Address Book Consistency Check

    [B]Hold down "Alt" and type "V" "A" "L" "D"
This will check your address book for inconsistencies.
    __________________________________________________ ______________

    Soft Reset

Press and hold "Alt", then press and hold "Shift", then press and hold "Del".
This will "Soft" Reset your device. The equivalent to a battery pull.
    __________________________________________________ ______________

    Help Me Menu

Hold "Alt" and (left) "Shift", then press "H".
Will bring up technical information about your BB.
    __________________________________________________ ______________

    View Source Code

In the Browser, hold down "Alt" and press "R" "B" "V" "S".
Displays source code of the webpage.
    __________________________________________________ ______________

    Rebuild Address Book

In the Address Book, hold "Alt" and press "R" "B" "L" "D"
Will force a data structure rebuild of you address book.
    __________________________________________________ ______________

    Lock Keypad

Press and hold the "A/*" key
    Alternate method:
Press and hold "Alt" and hit the "Enter" key.

There are plenty more. This is just the initial list to get you started. I will add more as I remember/learn them. Feel free to add your own!

I'd like to know if anyone ever figured out how to get an accurate Lifetimer on a Curve, Pearl, or any Blackberry. Even BB didnt know what the heck the 8 didgits stood for,ie 13:26:28:17. Some have speculated Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds (As dumb as that is) but nothing affirmative.
