Samsung Exhibit 4G
Anyone doing anything to this device? Im looking to get a new, cheap device with an ffc and a 1ghz processor, and the exhibit 4g meets that. According to samsung, its almost identical to the galaxy s 4g less the super amoled screen. Its running 2.3.3 with the hummingbird chip. Im not a huge camera person, so the 3mp camera doesnt bother me. I dont know much about samsungs horrible filesystem or how to do a lagfix to convert it to ext4, if this device even needs it. Stock quadrant scores suggest it needs the voodoo lagfix that i saw they have on the galaxy s 4g and the vibrant. Does anyone here know how to do a lagfix? Any help would be appreciated!

If it's anything like the i9000 all you'd need is a supporting kernel and CWM with the options to apply the ext/other fs
But I only know of development on the Galaxy 4G
Thing is remember quadrant is horrible on the A8 Cpu anyway I would never read too much into them they do not reflect real life performance. Seeing as it comes as stock with 2.3 you won't notice it too bad on it, on 2.2 it was really bad when loading Gmaps or a heavier browser.
Although the RFS (retarded file system) is a relatively poor FS it has gotten better as far as I've used the 2.3 build for my SGS and used it with in excess of 100+ apps with no issues. Best would be to see if you can use a model before buying and load heavy apps like Gmaps it tends to pop in the lag then.Galaxy SII - CM7 @Stock speed, 16gb + 16gb Micro SD
Galaxy S - CM9 (kind of) @ 1.5ghz, 8gb + 16gb Micro SD

Thanks. I'm also still looking out for a root method. I don't know much right now about kernels, but I'm learning by working on a kernel module for the Cliq 2. As far as root for the Exhibit 4g, no known methods work. So I may just spend the extra money and get a phone that has some development started already.
