Worldwide, it is, but if you have carriers that offer discounts per # of years contracts, makes it much more affordable. I managed to get it here, from AT&T for $150.

Best of luck man, it is worth it and you can try to get the ATT version, a little bit cheaper. Very easy to root/sim unlock.

For once in history, Tmo version is the worse than ATT one, so I'd recommend trying to get the ATT GS2 as it is almost the international version aside from bottom button downgrade. That Exynos chipset is quite something, and root+sim unlock is effortlessly easy.

Yeah, that's one thing that Samsung did good was leave their unlock codes easily discovered in the device files. The only reason Tmo put the other chipset in was to get the 42mbps hspa+ radio. I played with it a bit when it first came out, and it was smooth. I don't know how much of a difference there actually is with it, but oh well.

Check out this, 360 Launcher. I think its pretty much a launcher for a MIUI clone, but god is it pretty and easy to add various themes to without flashing anything.
